Sunday 12th June

It was Marlborough's turn today to join in the fun of the 20 Summits challenge with a leisurely stroll up the Wither Hills that grace Blenheim.

Mayor Alistair Sowman and a group of Tasman Makos including assistant coach and ex-All Black Leon MacDonald for the Marlborough Community Climb joined a healthy group of walkers to undertake the sixth challenge.

Eugene Gay has rasied over $1500 for the Summit Rescue Helicopter

The star of the show was young Eugene Gay, a Tapawera School student whom has raised $1,500 by himself for the Summit Rescue Helicopter.

Prior to the challenge starting kids could warm up on the mini obstacle course and scramble over 20 rugby balls despatched by the Makos.
