Two Nelson Laser sailors in top 10

Sailors from the Nelson Yacht Club recorded two top-10 finishes at the 2011 National Laser Championships at Torbay, on Auckland's North Shore, last week.
Competing in the the Laser 4.7 class, Phillipa Wood placed sixth overall in the six-round regatta, with a best finish of second in race four. Holly McKee was one spot further back, with her best finish also a second placing in race five.Other sailors in the 4.7 class were Emma Sullivan (19th), Laura Webster (21st), Hamish Mellor (22nd), Anna Hansen (26th), Andrew Wood (27th) and Stephanie Vining (28th).
In the Radial class Anita Holmes was third in the youth female category and 45th overall. Current Laser 4.7 youth world champion Ryan Amlehn placed 21st overall and 13th in the youth male category. Matthew Vining was 38th overall.
In the open standard class, Blair McKay finished 12th in the eight-race competiton, with his best finish a third place in race three. Graham Sharland was 28th in the mastaers standard class.
